Free-agent center Kevin Seraphin agreed to a contract with the New York Knicks on Tuesday.

According to ESPN, Seraphin signed a one year contract that is worth $2.8 million. The deal is for less than what Seraphin made last year, which was $3.9 million. The Washington Wizards had wanted him to stay, but their roster is full. Seraphin had wanted more playing time, and the Knicks will be able to give him more playing time.

Seraphin was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 2010. The Bulls traded him to the Wizards one month later. He spent the last five seasons with the Wizards. Last season he averaged 6.6 points and 3.6 rebound in a career-high 79 games, according to the New York Post. In his career Seraphin has averaged 6.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks.

The Knicks have added five players to their time this offseason. They singed center Robin Lopez, and forwards Kyle O’Quinn and Derrick Williams, and drafted Kristaps Porzingis this offseason. Seraphin will likely be the backup for Lopez.
