Comedian Louis C.K. is planning on taking another hiatus from his acclaimed FX comedy Louie. FX Networks and FX Productions CEO John Landgraf made the announcement during the network’s TCA press tour panel.
“After writing, directing, starring in and mostly editing 61 episodes of television,” Landgraf said, reports The Hollywood Reporter. “He's anxious to take a break from the show and work on other things."
This isn’t actually that surprising. C.K. did put the show on hiatus in 2012, between the third and fourth seasons. The network also didn’t immediately renew Louie after season five ended in May.
C.K. does have other projects he’s working on. FX announced earlier that he has co-created Better Things with his frequent Louie co-star Pamela Adlon, who will star in the series. He’s also producing Baskets with Zach Galifianakis for FX.
Lastly, C.K. is also reportedly working on a film called I’m A Cop, which will be his first feature in nearly 15 years.
Aside from performing standup, C.K. has also taken occasional film acting gigs, appearing in Blue Jasmine, American Hustle and Bryan Cranston’s upcoming Trumbo. He was also Jon Stewart’s final guest on the Daily Show.
