Mariah Carey sounded off on reality stars who have made a career out of being in front of the camera, like the Kardashian family, saying she would never want that life.
Carey was speaking to Israeli journalist Yarden Ben Aviv, who asked her thoughts on people whose goal is to become famous with no talent.
“Some people’s goal is to be famous, not to have a craft or an art that they’re famous for,” she said, The Wrap reports, adding “you don’t really have to do much.”
She added, “And then your whole life is just about being a celebrity and that’s what some people aspire to, because it’s easy and because then everybody knows them and all they see is the bright side of fame.”
Carey, who has achieved fame thanks to her handfuls of No. 1 hit singles, said the cameras being around her all the time for work events is enough for her.
“I couldn’t handle being on a reality show, I couldn’t handle having people with cameras on me all the time. It’s already like that, it’s too much,” she said.
