Natalie Portman had an advantage over the young celebrities today that she’s acknowledging in a new interview, saying she went out and acted like a foolish teen just like everyone else but there were just no social media sites documenting it.

Portman, 34, now married and a mother to 4-year-old Aleph, opened up to Marie Claire UK about sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram not even existing when she was rising the ranks of Hollywood.

"I was in that lucky window: there was no Twitter, Facebook or Instagram," she said. “I went out and got drunk with my friends and no one knew."

She went on to say Jennifer Lawrence and Kristen Stewart are “the stars now,” and she can’t even name their male counterparts. This is a welcome change in Hollywood, as she points out the gender wage gap back in 1997 with Titanic’s Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

"There is an outrageous discrepancy between men and women in Hollywood," she did say, but continued, "Titanic is a huge hit and Leonardo DiCaprio immediately goes to $20 million per movie and Kate Winslet doesn't. But that feels totally like it's changing."
