Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta has reportedly added the first transgender star to the cast of any franchise: model Amiyah Scott.
Scott is rumored to be replacing NeNe Leakes, who announced her departure in June.
According to TMZ, Scott, transitioned when she was 17 and she’s now 27. She was born as a male named Arthur.
Leakes leaves behind big shoes to fill, and Bravo might’ve just scored a home run with Scott’s casting. It’s also rumored former Facts of Life star, Kim Fields, will appear on the show next season as a new cast member.
Sources also confirmed the new cast members to TheWrap.
On social media, Scott describes herself as a “unicorn with an invisible horn, model, makeup guru, weaveologist, mermaid, transformer and beauty consultant."
Scott’s addition to the show is another huge step for the transgender community, who has been spotlighted thanks to Caitlyn Jenner’s transition and her docu-series I Am Cait.
