Reba McEntire and husband Narvel Blackstock are calling it quits.
The longtime couple announced that they are separating on Monday after 26 years of marriage.
McEntire and Blackstock made a joint statement to address their separation on the country singer’s personal website. Though they did not cite any reasons for the split, the couple revealed, “They have been separated for the past few months.”
“Despite this being the end of their marriage, they continue to support each other,” the statement concluded. “They have worked together for 35 years and will continue to do so. They have asked that you respect their privacy during this time.”
McEntire and Blackstock have one son together, notes E! News. Blackstock also has three children from previous relationships including Brandon Blackstock, who is married to singer Kelly Clarkson.
McEntire has been keeping busy despite her changing relationship status; the singer has been working on some new music. She unveiled the album cover to her new single on Twitter on Monday to give fans a clue about her upcoming projects.
“New single announcement coming Wednesday,” McEntire wrote. “Here’s a clue…”
