Actors Robin Wright and Ben Foster have broken up and called off their engagement for the second time.
The star of Netfix’s House of Cards confirmed in January of 2014 that she and the X-Men actor were getting married, and E! News learned in November of that year that the couple had split. In January of 2015, Wright and Foster reconnected at the 2015 Golden Globes.
E! News learned Saturday that the two had split and called off their engagement a few months ago, after it was first reported by People. 49-year-old Wright and Foster, 34, first met on the set of the 2011 movie Rampart, and began dating months later.
After confirming their engagement, the actress called the actor “the hottest,” and said, “I’m very blessed.”
Wright told Vanity Fair earlier this year, “I’ve never been happier in my life than I am today. Perhaps it’s not ladylike [to say], but I’ve never laughed more, read more, or come more than with Ben. He inspires me to be the best of myself. There’s so much to learn. It’s endless. How great!”
This would have been the first marriage for Foster and the third for Wright. Her first husband was actor Dane Witherspoon and her second was Sean Penn, with whom she shares daughter Dylan Penn, 24, and their 22-year-old son Hopper Penn.
