Salma Hayek has said that she thinks Hollywood studios really don’t want her and she really doesn’t care.

The Associated Press noted that Hayek said although she may not be receiving many movie offers these days, she is working on other projects that are important to her.

“I think they don't want me but I don't really care," she said of the big Hollywood studios.

One of the 48-year-old’s latest projects include producing and lending her voice for the animated film The Prophet.

"It's meaningful. It's hopeful. It's uplifting. It's respectful. It honors children,” Hayek said. “Many people tell me, 'But they are not going to like poetry.' Children love poetry. That's why we have the nursery rhymes and then we don't give it to them anymore. It's their first language. They think in metaphor."

As we reported, the Mexican-born actress recently responded to Donald Trump’s controversial comments on immigration. She called his remarks a “very simple tactic for self-promotion” and said she is “not insulted because I cannot be insulted by stupidity.”

The Prophet hits theaters on Aug. 7.
