Sandra Lee has been released from the hospital and is now resting at home after surgery for complications from her double mastectomy in May.
Although she’s able to recover in the comfort of her own home, she still has portable IVs and 24-hour nursing care.
The celebrity chef’s team has posted an update on her Facebook page, confirming she was released on Wednesday night.
"Like her first surgery, day one after the operation, Sandra is up and energized, and it was the third and fourth days that were the toughest last time, but she is determined to go home later on today, even if that means 'hosting' a pick line or med line for IV infusions, as she must stay on massive antibiotics for a couple of weeks to fight against infection," they wrote.
As we previously reported, her rep said she had a “set-back” in recovery and would need surgery to fight an infection.
“The first course of action is to get the infection identified and under control,” her team said on Facebook at the time when revealing her need for surgery.
