Singer and songwriter Shakira has been cast as the voice of a character for the 2016 Disney computer-animated film Zootopia, the studio announced at the D23 expo.

The Columbia native will voice the part of Gazelle according to Fox News Latino, who is a pop star in the “mammal metropolis of Zootopia,” where a police lieutenant bunny and fugitive fox are forced to work together after they become the targets of a conspiracy.

Shakira’s voice will be heard in the English-language version of the film as well as in her original song, “Try Everything.”

The singer posted a photo of her character on her Twitter account saying, “I am thrilled to announce that I will be playing Gazelle in @DisneyAnimation’s #Zootopia. I’ll be singing a brand new song for the movie called “Try Everything”!”

Other members of the voice cast include actors Jason Bateman, Ginnifer Goodwin and Alan Tudyk. “Zootopia” is directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore and produced by Clark Spencer. The production company is Walt Disney Animation Studios.
