More footage from Star Wars: The Force Awakens hit the web today, although from an unconventional source.
The official Star Wars Instagram account posted a video that included two shots that we have never seen before. The first shows Rey (Daisey Ridley) looking up, towards the camera, with BB-8 behind her.
In the second shot, we see the familiar image of Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) turning on his three-pronged lightsaber. Then, there’s a shot of Finn (John Boyega) holding up a lightsaber that looks very similar to Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber from A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. (And we know that the lightsaber was originally Anakin Skywalker’s.)
Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) also says in the narration, “There’s been an awakening.” In addition, the video also includes the long shot of the First Order’s army that we saw in the international TV spot earlier this month.
The Force Awakens was directed by J.J. Abrams, who revealed some interesting info about Kylo Ren earlier this week.
The new movie hits theaters on Dec. 18, which can’t come soon enough.
