Stephen Colbert announced who will be the first guest to welcome him to the Late Show on CBS. Here’s a hint: he’s one of the biggest movie stars in the world.
The former Colbert Report host tweeted that George Clooney will be his guest on his first episode on Sept. 8. “Could one of you let him know?” Colbert asked his 8.57 million followers.
Clooney was one of David Letterman’s final guests on the Late Show in May. The Tomorrowland actor famously handcuffed himself to David Letterman and threw the key away.
Clooney is not making the appearance to promote anything in particular. He just starred in Tomorrowland for Disney and is working on the Coen Brothers’ Hail, Caesar!, which comes out in February.
Colbert previously hosted The Colbert Report on Comedy Central. He made an appearance during Jon Stewart’s final Daily Show episode last night.
