Susan Sarandon’s daughter, actress Eva Amurri Martino and her husband Kyle Martino, announced the sad news this weekend that she recently suffered a miscarriage.

People.com noted that the 30-year-old broke the news on her Happily Eva After blog Saturday and hoped that the announcement would help anyone else going through the same thing.

“I am sharing in the hopes that we can be a light for people going through similar circumstances, and to remind myself and others that there is no shame in voicing our heartbreaks and allowing others to comfort us. A couple of days ago, the baby I was carrying passed away. I was nine weeks pregnant,” Martino wrote.

She added that during a doctor’s visit it was revealed that the baby’s heart was no longer beating.

Her husband shared his heartbreak via Twitter.

As we previously reported, the couple welcomed a baby girl Marlowe Mae last August.

Martino starred in the 2008 movie Middle of Nowhere and has appeared in several guest TV roles. Kyle is a former Major League Soccer player and current NBC Sports broadcaster.
