You might need to make a weekly appointment with your tissue box because The CW is working on a TV adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ The Notebook.

The project will be based on the bestselling 1996 novel that made Sparks a household name and the equally beloved 2004 New Line film that featured Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling. Entertainment Weekly first reported on the new project. TheWrap also confirmed that the project is in the works.

Sparks is serving as an executive producer with Theresa Park. It is a Nicholas Sparks Productions and Warner Bros. Television production. Todd Graff serves as writer and executive producer.

For those unaware of the story of The Notebook, the film follows the love affair between Noah and Allie, who fell in love during the 1940s with World War II in the background. The couple stayed together for decades, even as Allie battled Alzheimer’s disease.

The film was directed by Nick Cassavetes and kicked off a string of Sparks film adaptations. It grossed $115 million worldwide.
