In Hollywood, most relationships never last very long. There are a few that have endured the test of time and one that we all thought would last forever is Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog.
Over the years, they have had the ups and downs that many couples face, but considering they are fictional characters (are they still fictional at this point?) we thought they could last forever. We were wrong.
During ABC’s Television Critics Association Press Tour panel for the new series The Muppets, Miss Piggy and Kermit announced that they are calling it quits.
We can only hope that the couple winds up back together after a full season of The Muppets. It’s the first time Jim Henson’s famous characters have been on the small screen since Muppets Tonight ended. ABC will need both stars to put their differences behind them to make sure the show works and survives.
While we still ponder if love still exists, it’s time to look back at the best moments from Piggy and Kermie’s time together as a couple.
