Keep your fingers crossed Curb Your Enthusiasm fans! The show may be back on our screens in the near-ish future.

During the HBO panel at the Television Association Summer Press Tour HBO’s president, Michael Lombardo, shared that the comedy written and starred in by Larry David may come back to HBO for a ninth season… eventually.

Rotten Tomatoes shared that Lombardo talked with David after the premiere of David’s Broadway show Fish In The Dark. Lombardo said that David showed him a notebook and asked, “Do you know what this is? This is the ‘next season’ notebook.”

Lombardo acknowledged that the road to season nine of Curb Your Enthusiasm may be a long one. “I don’t think it’s out of his system. When he has something to say, he will come back. I certainly see this as a continuing dialogue with him—a long one, but a continuing one.”

News of the possibility of another Curb Your Enthusiasm season is surprising. Back in December David shared on a podcast that “odds would be against” doing another season. David said “I got so much grief from the Seinfeld finale, which a lot of people intensely disliked, that I no longer feel the need to wrap things up. I wouldn’t say I am mad about it, but it taught me a lesson that if I ever did another show I wasn’t gonna wrap it up.”

Here's to hoping the "dialogue" between David and HBO isn't as long as Lombardo anticipates.
