Miley Cyrus is planning yet another career change. Her album with the Flaming Lips, with more details out this week, is showing yet another side of her.

A source told Billboard on Monday more details about the album. Although a title has not yet been revealed, the source explained that it won’t be a Miley Cyrus release, but that it will blend their psychedelic sounds her with pop music sensibilities.

“It’s a project she’s been working on with the Flaming Lips,” the source explained. “It’s amazing, it’s incredible, it just needs to be understood that it’s not a typical, straightforward Miley record -- we don’t want there to be confusion in the marketplace.”

If you’ve been tracking the former Hannah Montana star’s career, this would be the third time she overhauled her sound. Can’t Be Tamed was supposed to be her mature, sexier side, but failed to impress listeners. Then, 2013’s Bangerz got her the attention she deserved with “Wrecking Ball” and other hits. Now, this project appears to be an exploration of her rocker side.

Cyrus, as you know, is far from the first artist to drastically alter her sound. So, we count down the artists who made such a change, for better or for worse.
