Former Disney stars have a history of rebelling against the child-friendly image that makes them famous. None have taken it further than Miley Cyrus. Since ditching her Hannah Montana character she has become one of the most controversial entertainers in the world.
Criticism of Cyrus began years ago. While still appearing on Hannah Montana she was thought of as a role model to kids. She was expected to act a certain way, and as she got older she began to defy it.
Now she has completely left those years behind in favor of a new look, music, and public relationships. She will be in the news even more now that she is hosting this Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards.
Cyrus said she doesn’t want it to be like other VMA’s, according to the N.Y. Times.
Of course it won’t be. With Cyrus hosting most expect it to be out of control and shocking, just like her.
