Sam Radar, one half of the YouTube Christian video blogging team Sam and Nia, confirmed on Friday that he did have an Ashley Madison account. It was created two years ago and he says that Nia has since forgiven him.
Sam and Nia became a viral sensation earlier this month when they posted a video of Sam surprising Nia by announcing that she was pregnant. The video garnered over 14 million views. Sadly, days later, they posted another video explaining that Nia had a miscarriage.
On Friday, it was reported by the Daily Mail that Sam’s name came up on the list of leaked Ashley Madison users. Ashley Madison is a site where spouses can set up affairs with other users. It was also revealed that 19 Kids and Counting’s Josh Duggar had an account.
The Ashley Madison user whose data matched Sam’s (with the same Texas address and zip code of their home) allegedly made two payments of $189 in September 2013, which was the same month the couple’s second child was born. There were also four $14 payments listed on the account.
Sam and Nia posted a video Friday called “FORGIVEN,” in which Sam admits to having the account with Nia by his side. He also claims in a statement that he never actually went through with an affair.
This is actually just the latest controversy for the couple, who have been vlogging for over a year and had a hit with a video of them singing a Frozen song in the car. BuzzFeed notes that there were questions about the validity of the pregnancy test Sam used in their most recent big viral hit, which he purposefully made in an effort to go viral again. The negative comments, of course, sparked a response video.
