Zoe Kravitz has opened up about her mother Lisa Bonet’s thoughts about her former television dad, Bill Cosby, being accused by dozens of women of rape and sexual assault.
Bonet played Denise Huxtable on The Cosby Show, the oldest daughter of Bill Cosby’s Cliff and Phylicia Rashad’s Clair.
In an interview with The Guardian, Kravitz was asked if her mom has ever talked about these allegations with her.
"She hasn't, she really hasn't,” she explained. “She'd plead the fifth, even to me. I think she's just staying out of it." However, her reaction was the same as everyone else’s, Kravitz said.
"She's just as disgusted and concerned as everyone else is, but I don't think she has any insight," she said. "It's news to her as well."
Bonet was on the show from 1984 to 1991, and left when she was 23. But Kravitz, whose father is Lenny Kravitz, said if her mom had been abused she’s certain she would come out and say it.
"She was on the show for a long time. She's also a beautiful woman. It makes people wonder," she said of her mom. "She's a very straightforward person. If there was something she felt the world needed to know that would help this case or help any women who had been abused, she would say something."
