Bob Harper, a longtime trainer on The Biggest Loser, has been picked to host the show’s upcoming 17th season this fall. The show lost host Alison Sweeney last month.

Sweeney, who also starred on Days Of Our Lives for many years, said on Aug. 25 that she is leaving the show after hosting since 2007.

Today, NBC announced that they had found a replacement, but they didn’t have a difficult search. They picked Harper, who has been a trainer on the show since season one. He will still act as trainer during the season.

“I'm super excited about taking the position of host on The Biggest Loser,” Harper said in a statement. “I've been with the show since season one so I know all of the ins and outs, and let me tell you, the weigh-in room is going to be a completely different ballgame with me at the steering wheel.”

The regular trainers on the show will be Dolvett Quince and Jennifer Widerstrom. This will be Quince’s sixth season, while it is Widerstrom’s second.

The new season of The Biggest Loser will feature 16 contestants who all try to lose weight through competitions.
