Saturday, September 5, marked the third episode of Blunt Talk on Starz. In case you didn’t catch it, here’s what you missed.

We open on Walter coming down the stairs calling to Harry that he’s hungry. Suddenly Harry tries to ambush him from behind with a wooden sword. A sword match ensues which Walter wins, but he feels low even though Harry says he usually enjoys thrashing him. They discuss Walter’s upcoming psychiatrist appointment and then Harry leaves to make him breakfast.

Walter starts his session with his psychiatrist, once again played by Richard Lewis. They discuss Walter’s being self-loathing and his fear of starting a new relationship with a woman because “all my relationships end in pain.” The psychiatrist tells Walter he should live like Elizabeth Taylor – that a messy life is a good life.

Rosalie and Bob are in Walter’s office. They tell him that the police officer he assaulted didn’t need testicle surgery, so it’s only a misdemeanor. They also tell him that Gisellie’s charges were dropped and that she wrote him a thank you note for getting her a lawyer. Bob then tells him that his license is still suspended and he has to go to AA meetings. Walter swigs down his bourbon quickly.

Harry helps Walter pick an outfit for AA – they decide on ‘Bono.’ He and Walter get into their new muscle car with Harry driving and Walter stuffed into the small backseat. Rosalie gives Martin a ride home. When they get there, she asks Martin if he wants to do what they did last time. He says yes and proceeds to smell her cleavage.

Walter and Harry arrive at the church for AA. Turns out there are all kinds of anonymous meetings there including gamblers anonymous, overeaters anonymous, sex addicts anonymous, etc. Walter gets his drunk driving sheet signed by one of the AA members, then decides to go look for women in the sex addicts group while Harry, an avid gambler, sits in on the gambling group.

Walter speaks out in the sex addicts group that the only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it. He meets a woman who agrees with his thinking and they head for her place with Harry driving. Walter tells Harry to wait for him, he’ll only be an hour. Walter and the woman start making out and her ex-husband busts into the room and starts screaming. He chases Walter out of the house. Harry has taken a row boat out nearby and Walter jumps from a bridge into the boat. He and Harry sing blow the man down.

Rosalie and her husband are talking in the kitchen about their open marriage. He mentions a woman he met a few days prior, but Rosalie says he already told her about that particular woman. A little while later, he tells her the same story again. Rosalie realizes something is wrong.

Celia meets a man, also a professional magician, on a dating app. They meet at a restaurant. He does a few tricks and she notices he has a wedding ring. He makes the ring magically disappear. We then see them in Celia’s bedroom.

Jim is shopping for high heels. He sees one he likes and asks for it in a size 6. Then we see Jim FaceTiming his parents on his iPad. He signs off and starts fawning over the shoes.

The show closes by taking a quick glance at everyone thinking over what’s happened to them that day.
