On the season two premiere of How to Get Away with Murder, the truth behind Rebecca’s death is revealed, Annalise takes on a new case involving siblings guilty of murder and an old friend’s return shakes things up for Nate’s case.

The episode opens with Rebecca’s final moments before her death. She’s pleading with her killer to stop, but he or she won’t listen. Fast forward ten days later and Annalise’s students are back in class. She’s lecturing them about good defense strategies in relation to the idea that victims are more likely to be killed by people they know and why that might be problematic in court. While her students offer their thoughts on the topic, flashbacks to the night Rebecca's death reveal that Annalise helps Frank discover the body and asks him to dispose of it quietly.

Meanwhile, in the present, Wes is late to class, which prompts a verbal tussle between him and Annalise.

Back at the Keating house, tensions are strong as the group continues to blame Wes for letting Rebecca get away and Michaela remains angry at Laurel for what she did with her engagement ring. Simultaneously, Annalise becomes aware of a new case that involves siblings accused of killing their parents.

Later, Annalise visits the siblings on trial and instructs her students to figure out ways to manipulate the siblings’ case so Annalise will be forced to take over. While her students struggle to carry out the new task they’ve been given, Nate’s lawyer, Eve arrives, catching Annalise off guard. She’s an old friend of Annalise’s and isn’t happy she’s being thrown into her and Nate’s drama.

Meanwhile, Oliver and Connor discuss their relationship troubles. They’ve hit a snag due to Oliver’s positive STD test results and are currently celibate.

Wes takes a break from researching the case Annalise hopes to pick up to check out Jane Does on the Internet. What he doesn’t know is that Frank is tracking his computer and can see his search history. Frank is eager to blame Wes for Rebecca’s death, though Annalise seems to think Frank is responsible. Seeing Wes’ search history, Frank considers tracking the rest of Annalise’s students’ computers as well.

That night, Annalise meets up with Wes and asks him about his recent behavior. He says he’s not purposely targeting Annalise. Annalise responds by telling him she knows where Rebecca is, but he has to stay quiet about it.

Laurel makes a breakthrough in her research and finds a surveillance tape that could potentially create chaos for the siblings’ case and tries to obtain information about Rebecca from Bonnie while at court. The surveillance tape proves to be successful as Laurel slips the evidence to a member of the siblings’ legal team, prompting it to be formally introduced during the trial the same day.

Bonnie updates the group on the case’s proceedings when she returns from court and tries to make plans with Asher, but he blows her off. The rest of the group knows the pair is an item now.

In the middle of the second phase of the siblings’ case, Michaela recalls a text she received following Rebecca’s disappearance and tries to obtain advice from Frank, though he dodges her. Later, Frank follows Wes to see if he’ll take Annalise’s bait and go searching for Rebecca.

Nate meets with Eve and she chides him for not being more proactive in his case. He wants to know what her deal is and how Annalise got her involved. Eve explains that she knows Annalise from Harvard; Nate lets slip that Annalise framed him. Later, Eve finds Annalise and explains that she won’t be taking Nate’s case. She’s tired of Annalise using people and then ruining them afterwards.

At the same time, Michaela has drinks alone at a bar and decides to reach out to her mysterious texter.

The trial is well underway and the siblings’ aunt is still on the stand. It is revealed that the defense manipulated the security footage, which creates doubt for the rest of the court. Annalise and Bonnie watch from a distance and Frank expresses his frustrations regarding Wes to Annalise.

Annalise invites Wes over for dinner and Wes explains he’s trying to respect Rebecca’s choice to run away, because he doesn’t want to seem pathetic by chasing after her. He also apologizes for his recent behavior toward Annalise.

Frank is still monitoring Annalise’s students’ online activity when Laurel shows up at his apartment. She’s convinced Rebecca is dead, but Frank refuses to confirm or deny this, throwing her out. With Laurel gone, Frank calls Annalise and gives her updates. Annalise says Laurel is the wrong girl for them to be worrying about.

Annalise visits Bonnie and flashbacks reveal that Bonnie is the one responsible for killing Rebecca. Annalise is upset with Bonnie and tells her she’s a monster just like Sam for what he did to Lila. When Annalise leaves Bonnie’s, she stops by Eve’s and the two women drink and catch up. They also share an initially awkward, but soon intimate moment.

The next day, Annalise meets with the siblings accused of killing their parents. They claim they’re being framed and worry how Annalise’s involvement in her husband’s death might interfere with their case.

Meanwhile, Eve officially becomes assigned to Nate’s case.

Connor moves into Oliver’s place, but a call from Annalise interrupts their time for romance. Annalise calls her students together, so they can all have a night out and forget their current problems. Things start off rocky with Michaela and Laurel still feuding and Wes reluctant to let loose, though they eventually pick up and everyone gets into the party mood.

At the same time, Asher is confronted by a cop, Bonnie sees a news report that the siblings’ aunt has been found dead in her car and Michaela receives more text messages from the mysterious phone number.

Two months later, a gun shot goes off inside the siblings’ mansion and blood is splattered all over the walls. Wes is seen running away from the property, while Annalise lies dead on the floor.

End of episode.
