NBC couldn’t stay away from Amy Poehler for too long.
One of our favorite funny ladies is producing a show for the Peacock network, under her production company Paper Kite Productions.
According to The Hollywood Reporter NBC has committed to the pilot Dumb Prince, which was written by Charlie Grandy (of The Mindy Project and The Office).
The show is about a Crown Prince’s go at running his family’s business and the dysfunction and chaos that grows from that.
Grandy and Poehler have worked together in the past. They were part of Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update” team.
Paper Kite Productions is currently producing Comedy Central’s Broad City and Hulu’s Difficult People. Poehler has a lot on her plate. She will be starring in the movie Balls with Ike Barinholtz (The Mindy Project), she is currently shooting The House with Will Ferrell, and in December, her movie Sisters with Tina Fey will be released.
Mike Schur, Poehler’s Parks and Rec boss and Grandy’s The Office co-worker recently received a series order from NBC for a comedy. SNL co-star Tina Fey received a pilot order.
