“I volunteer! I volunteer as tribute,” is essentially what Bette Midler said on Twitter this morning.

Midler took to social media to speculate about Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer’s collaboration. The two actresses announced last week that they are writing a screenplay together. The project is a comedy, Schumer and Lawrence are planning to play sisters.

Although the comedy is only in initial stages of development, Middler is thinking ahead. She tweeted, “Amy Schumer & Jennifer Lawrence are co-writing a screenplay about sisters. Hmm, who could play their mother? She’d have to be DIVINE!” We are couldn’t agree more.

Schumer and Lawrence have been spending a lot of time together recently. They danced on Billy Joel’s piano last week, and they vacationed together in August.

Entertainment Weekly pointed out that Midler has been a longtime Lawrence fan. She defended the Oscar winner after Lawrence referenced the First Wives Club with “I beat Meryl,” during her Golden Globes speech.
