Country singer Blake Shelton spoke publicly about his divorce from Miranda Lambert for the first time Wednesday.

The couple was married four-years before announcing their divorce back in July. The announcement came as a shock for many but both parties say the split was amicable.

According to Entertainment Tonight Shelton stated on an interview with the Bobby Bones Show “Miranda and I didn’t have any kids and we had a prenuptial agreement...Once we filed for divorce, it was over in, like, I think it was a nine or 10-day waiting period until it's over.”

Unlike the majority of celebrity couple divorces we see, Shelton and Lambert’s separation was fast and they managed to keep it under the radar until it was finalized.

CBS News reported the former couple planned for it to be that way. Shelton also added during his interview “We knew if rumblings and rumors started coming out, they would just be that. By the time anybody knew anything, it was over.”

The Voice judge is reportedly trying to focus on his career and is not looking to jump back into dating quite yet despite tabloid rumors of a romance with fellow Voice judge Gwen Stefani.
