On September 26, the Starz network played episode six of Blunt Talk. Here’s what you missed.
The show starts focused on a motorcycle rider riding up to Walter’s house. He rings the doorbell while Harry is polishing the bannister. Harry slides down the railing to open the door. It’s Raif, Walter’s son.
Celia talks to Walter’s therapist. She admits to saying, “Goodnight, my someone” every night before bed to her future husband, wherever he may be. She leaves the session crying.
Raif wakes Walter. Walter is happy to see him and reminds him to call him Dad. Walter is excited that Raif has a boxing fight the next night. Walter offers to be in his corner. Raif agrees.
Celia tells Rosalie that she can’t stop thinking about her magician. She says she always goes for alcoholics and men who disappear. Rosalie tells her not to give up on men.
Raif goes into work with Walter. Harry reminds Walter that his office bathroom is out of service, so Walter stops in the public bathroom. He runs into his guest for the night, a man from the UN, there to talk about genital mutilation.
Raif greets Rosalie and then sees Celia bent over in front of the fridge. Celia can’t open a jar of herring and hands it to Jim. Jim struggles with it, but can’t manage, so Raif takes and opens it in one twist. Harry introduces Raif to Celia.
Walter talks to the man from the UN on the air. The man mentions that circumcision is considered by some to be genital mutilation. Walter says he wanted his sons to be circumcised like he was. The man from the UN argues that he saw him in the bathroom and Walter is not circumcised. Walter is embarrassed and upset. He calls to Rosalie who assures him that he’s uncircumcised. Walter asks Harry why he didn’t tell him that he wasn’t circumcised. Harry says it didn’t occur to him that he needed to be told.
Walter has a dinner party with his two sons and his senior staff. He makes a toast to Raif’s victory the next night. Raif has too much to drink and obnoxiously tries to get people dancing. Walter calls an end to the party. Celia leaves last and runs into Raif who apologizes.
Harry puts Walter to bed. Meanwhile, Celia is in bed with Raif. He admits that he’s been hired to take a dive in the fight. Celia asks him which round he’s going to lose in.
Celia places a $6,000 bet against Raif to make up for losing the poker game. The fight starts. Walter roots for Raif, who tells him after the first bell that he’s taking a dive. Walter apologizes and tells him that he loves him. Raif, not wanting to let his father down, starts fighting back. He ends up going down in the third round instead of the second.
Raif has to leave town until things blow over about his loss. He promises Celia that he’ll come back when the heat dies down. He thanks Walter for being in his corner. Walter offers to get circumcised to match Raif. Raif takes off on his motorcycle.
