Get ready for Halloween with Caillou with a brand new DVD from PBS Distribution.

In July, we brought readers information on the Caillou Goes Back To School DVD, all about the adventures of a four-year-old boy named Caillou who learns his way through the daily life he leads with his mom, dad, little sister Rosie, and his friends at playschool. Now PBS Distribution brings you Caillou’s adventures in getting ready for Halloween and taking part in activities for fall.

For Caillou’s Halloween, Caillou gets his costume ready and helps his sister face her fears about Halloween by trying to teach his little sister that clowns aren’t scary. The DVD includes thirteen episodes, each one focusing on an aspect of having fun fall adventures. In one episode, Caillou goes to the apple orchard with his class, another sees Caillou playing in the dark outside with his new friends, Jason and Jeffrey, and another has Caillou learning to like vegetables after planting carrots with his grandpa.

Each episode is short enough for kids to enjoy and if they watch all of them in one sitting, it runs for approximately 100 minutes. The episodes are fun and engaging, and they teach children not to be afraid and how they can face their fears, especially around Halloween time. They also learn it is okay to try new things and how to have fun with friends. Parents will also get to spend time with children and teach them how the issues in the show mirror the child’s life if they have had similar fears to Caillou.

The DVD also has a section with a message to parents feature that talks about the show Caillou and how allows children to understand and respond toward the emotions and love Caillou has for his friends and family. While there are no fun extras on the DVD, it does provide a setup feature for closed captioning. There is also information on going to pbskids.org in order to learn more about Caillou. The website also has fun games for children to play.

Watching this with my brother was a fun experience and the DVD held his attention until we needed to stop watching for the night. It was great to see Caillou learning to have fun on Halloween and getting to be a magician in another episode, showing that he could do anything he set his mind to.

Caillou’s Halloween is out on DVD today and children will respond well to this DVD since they can relate to possible fears that come with the holiday, such as the dark or costumes that may be scary. It is a fun way to sit down and enjoy time with your child or to get some things done while their attention is captured by the fun adventures had in each episode.

The cost for the DVD is $6.99.
