Lifetime movies are bad, particularly the ones about real people. At least they pick people with dramatic personal lives. But what would happen if they picked a subject whose life offscreen isn’t that exciting? Someone like Meryl Streep, for instance?
The result, at least according to Funny Or Die, would be MERYL. Starring Christina Applegate, the movie will feature horrible recreations of her best-known roles and some shocking (but fake) revelations about her life. Does the greatest living American actress really need onions to cry? Probably not, but it would make for a good scene in the movie.
FOD’s trailer for MERYL was posted on Monday and shows off Applegate doing a really awful job at being Streep. Is Streep just so good that she’s tough to impersonate? Or is Applegate just bad?
