David Letterman has found a surprising first TV gig since retiring from CBS’ The Late Show. He will contribute to the new season of National Geographic Channel’s Years of Living Dangerously.
NatGeo and The Years Project announced a new season today. The show will again examine the impact of global warming on the earth and the challenges it has created. Correspondents will focus on how individuals, companies and government can help battle climate change.
In addition to Letterman, the roster of celebrity correspondents for the new season include actors Jack Black, Ty Burrell, Joshua Jackson, Olivia Munn, Ian Somerhalder and Arnold Schwarzenegger; Saturday Night Live’s Cecily Strong; filmmaker James Cameron; and New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman.
Letterman has maintained a low profile since retiring from the Late Show in May. In July, he surprised a crowd at an event with Martin Short and Steve Martin to roast Donald Trump.
Years of Living Dangerously producers Joel Bach and David Gelber told The Hollywood Reporter that Letterman will go to India for his segment and will interview Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The new season of Years of Living Dangerously will debut in fall 2016.
