Meredith Grey is on her own, and her alter ego Ellen Pompeo is probably happy about it.

Shortly after Pompeo made comments to Entertainment Weekly about the other leading ladies of Shondaland, Kerry Washington and Viola Davis, not needing a man on their respective show posters, the actress is getting her wish.
A new poster with just Pompeo and the tagline, “Let the sun shine,” debuted on Wednesday. Fans of Grey’s will remember Meredith’s best friend Cristina telling her she—not McDreamy— is “the sun.”

“It’s like, Annalise Keating carries the show, Olivia Pope carries the show,” Pompeo said to EW. “But somehow, Meredith Grey needs someone. Why can’t I just be the lead of the show the way Annalise and Olivia can? Why can’t I be on that poster by myself?”
Ironically, the Scandal poster featured Washington and her leading man Tony Goodwin, according to Yahoo.
Pompeo’s longtime love interest, Patrick Dempsey, left Grey’s last May.
Pompeo first opened up about Dempsey’s decision to leave Grey’s, and her decision to stand by Rhimes’ choices at the TCAs. “Patrick was an integral part of the show and it was huge for the fans,” she said. “I think knowing that [Dempsey] did an amazing 11 seasons and was ready to move on,” she explained. “And you can’t have his character, like she said, be a bad guy. You don’t want him to be a bad guy and leave his family.”
TGIT, the ABC block of Rhimes’ produced dramas, returns to ABC on Sept. 24. Grey’s kicks off the block of television at 8, Scandal follows at 9 and How To Get Away With Murder ends the night at 10.
