On The Haunted Star, Lulu suggested to Maxie that if she was so into Dillon’s movie then she should star in it. Maxie then auditioned for the lead female role and as she read the script, Lulu appeared touched by the words. Dillon then told Maxie that she did a perfect job and that the role was hers if she wanted it. Maxie promised Dillon that she would give it her all, so Dillon told her they would start after Labor Day. Lulu felt that all of them working together would be a lot of fun.
At Sonny’s place, Carly and Sonny continued to discuss Morgan’s situation. Then, TJ showed up and interrupted them to tell Sonny about Ric’s arrest. Sonny decided to go see Jordan since this must be a mistake, but Carly thought Ric could have done it. She then told Sonny that he should get rid of Ric and hire Diane back, but Sonny replied that he wouldn’t do that until he found out the truth.
Kiki returned home to Silas’ place, then Morgan arrived. He noticed that she was acting strangely, which she said was because this was the first time that she was back at her dad’s place since he died. He then suggested that they leave, but she refused since she had good memories there. Then, Kiki confronted Morgan about his lies and sleeping with Ava/Denise. Morgan denied it, but eventually admitted to what he had done. He claimed that he was confused since he thought Denise was Ava, which she was and that she lied to him too. Morgan then begged Kiki for another chance, but she told him to leave because she never wanted to see him again. Morgan told her that he loved her and then left.
At the PCPD, Jordan asked Nathan and Dante to walk her through how they figured out who killed Silas. Nathan revealed that when he saw Silas’ signature on the document of Nina’s, he knew what it meant. They then flashbacked to questioning Ric, who claimed that the page that Silas signed was not in the original document he prepared. Dante and Nathan then convinced him to play ball with them nail Madeline as the killer. Nathan and Dante then explained to Jordan how they figured it all out through the visitor’s log in Silas’ building and that Silas’ signature on the recent document also matched a prescription form that Madeline forged years earlier to drug Nina and put her in the coma. Later, Sonny arrived to find out what is going on with Ric and Jordan explained that he was helping them expose Silas’ real killer.
In court, Madeline and Ric discussed the fact that Madeline went to see Silas the night of his murder. In flashbacks, we see Madeline going to see Silas to have him sign papers pertaining to Nina’s finances and that Silas remembered that he signed this same document over a year ago. Madeline said there was a legal issue with the old one and that they needed this updated version. Silas then realized she was scheming with Ric, but she claimed that Nina was sick and that they needed her money to pay for her long-term help. She then explained about Nina’s hallucinations about babies because she kidnapped Avery again. Then, Silas revealed that he was the one who took Avery. Madeline confronted Silas over the kidnapping and Silas revealed that he was going to turn himself in for all he had done and come clean with Nina. He also told Madeline that he would sign the paper over his dead body. Madeline then grabbed a butcher knife and stabbed Silas. Back in the present, Madeline continued to deny murdering Silas to Ric, but he didn’t believe her. Ric then warned her that CSI was going to go through everything, so he could only help her if she was honest with him. Then, Madeline finally admitted to killing Silas. She added that she hid when Nina and Franco arrived and then waited for them to leave before she slipped out. Ric replied that her plan was brilliant, but then revealed that he was wearing a wire. When Madeline attacked him, Nathan and Dante burst in and arrested Madeline.
At Sonny’s house, Carly held Avery in her arms as she gently talked to the teething baby about the wedding, which was scheduled for the next day. Then, Sonny came home, but stopped in the doorway to watch Carly with the baby and Carly beaming with happiness. Then, Carly asked him about his trip to the police station. Sonny explained that Ric had been released because Silas’ real killer had been caught.
Sonny then filled Carly in about Madeline's plot to steal Nina's fortune and Silas' refusal to sign the documents relinquishing Silas' claim on the money. Shocked, Carly recalled talking to Madeline days earlier about the challenges of having a child with a mental illness. She then told Sonny that Madeline had given her insight into Morgan's situation, which was why Carly was desperate to get Morgan some help. Sonny reminded her that Morgan wasn't ready to listen, but Carly suggested that they ask Michael to intervene. Sonny was uncomfortable with the idea, but then Carly admitted that she had already told Michael about the possibility that Morgan was bipolar. Sonny then asked Carly if Michael had made a decision about coming to the wedding, but Carly shook her head, but she reminded him that there was still time for Michael to have a change of heart.
On The Haunted Star, Morgan complained to the bartender about the quantity of the "double shot" of alcohol Morgan had been given because it hadn't been enough. Then, Morgan's temper exploded as he threatened to withhold a tip, but Michael suddenly appeared to slap down some cash on the bar. Michael then asked for a large bottle of sparking water and two glasses and for the bartender to close out Morgan's tab. Michael then led Morgan to a nearby table to ask why Morgan had called. Michael admitted that he had been concerned when he had heard Morgan's voicemail message. Morgan revealed that Kiki had ended things with them. Michael was surprised until Morgan added that Kiki had found out that Morgan had slept with Ava. Michael was curious if Morgan knew that Denise was Ava, but Morgan replied that he didn’t. Morgan then admitted that he had thought Denise truly cared about him, but worse than finding out the truth about Ava had been Kiki's reaction to the affair. Morgan then realized that he had lost Kiki for good, so his dreams of a future had been shattered. Michael promised that things would get better, but Morgan was skeptical. Morgan then explained that his desire for Ava had been beyond his control, which worried him. Michael suggested that sometimes rational thoughts flew out the window because of sex and passion, but Morgan feared that Sonny and Carly had been right about his erratic emotions.
Michael then told Morgan that Carly had told him about her concerns that Morgan might have bipolar disorder. Morgan became upset, but was curious if Michael thought Carly was right. Michael conceded that Morgan had done things that Michael would never have thought possible. Michael then assured Morgan that he wouldn’t be to blame if he were diagnosed with bipolar disorder because it was a chemical imbalance. Michael then urged Morgan to schedule an appointment with Kevin Collins. Morgan admitted that he might not be ready for an answer then changed the subject to ask if Michael intended to attend Sonny and Carly's wedding. Michael explained that he would feel disloyal to A.J. if he attended, but Morgan replied that they wouldn't be a family again until Michael forgave Sonny. Morgan then decided that it was time to get control of the wreck his life had become. Then, Michael hugged Morgan and promised that things would get better.
In Julian's bedroom, Julian recalled visiting Ava in jail to let her know that he had failed to steal the recording of her confessing to Connie's murder. He then glanced at a picture of his sister and apologized. Then, Alexis appeared in the doorway. She was curious why he had been apologizing to Ava, so he claimed that he had broken the news to Ava that Alexis couldn't represent Ava because it was a conflict of interest, since Alexis represented Nina in the same case. Alexis then revealed that Silas' real killer had been captured, so Ava wouldn't be facing charges for Silas’ murder. Alexis then told Julian about Madeline's scheme to steal Nina's fortune and why Madeline had murdered Silas. Alexis added that she had to appear in court with Nina the following morning to get her client released from police custody then she had to head out of town because Kristina needed her. Alexis promised to return in time for Julian's trial, but Julian wasn't worried about that, he would just miss her. Julian then pulled her close and he suggested that they make love. After they made love, Alexis offered to call Diane to ask her to represent Ava. Alexis didn't hold out much hope for Ava but promised that Diane was a "barracuda" in the courtroom. Julian thanked Alexis then made love to her again.
In PCPD lockup, Ava recalled her conversation with Morgan when she had promised to keep their affair a secret because she wanted both Morgan and Kiki to be happy. Ava then looked up when she heard her Kiki greet her. Ava smiled then confessed that she had desperately needed the visit because she had had a wretched day. Kiki then admitted that her day had also been dreadful because the police had given her permission to return to Silas' apartment. Then, Kiki angrily whispered, "You've been sleeping with my boyfriend," as she leaned close to the bars to glare accusingly at Ava. Ava stammered out a denial, but Kiki told her that Franco had told her the truth and that Morgan had confirmed their affair. Ava was furious that Morgan had confessed, but Kiki accused Ava of manipulating her and "jumping Morgan's bones" behind her back. Ava immediately tried to explain that she had never meant for things to go as far as they had with Morgan and insisted that she hadn't known that Morgan and Kiki had rekindled things until it was too late. Still, Kiki didn’t believe her mother because she and Morgan continued sleeping together even after she knew that she (Kiki) and Morgan were back together. Ava then argued that both Kiki and Avery meant the "whole world" to her, which was why Ava had risked everything to return to Port Charles. Yet, Kiki didn't believe her mother because it had been so easy for Ava to betray her.
Ava promised that she had ended things with Morgan and insisted that she loved Kiki, but Kiki made it clear that she never wanted to see Ava again. Kiki then added that Ava had cost her a relationship with Avery because she doubted that Sonny would want any reminders of Ava, including Kiki, near Avery. "You are out of my life," Kiki shouted with angry tears shimmering in her eyes. Kiki then warned Ava that she would wake up in the morning with the knowledge that everything she ever loved was gone. Ava was devastated as Kiki stormed out.
Meanwhile, Maxie entered the PCPD, eager to share her good news with Nathan, but she stopped short when she noticed that Nathan seemed troubled. He then explained that he had just arrested Silas' killer. Maxie worried that he meant Nina, but then Madeline, dressed in an orange jumpsuit and confined to handcuffs, was escorted by a police officer to a nearby desk. Then, Maxie realized that Madeline had killed Silas. Madeline tried to spin the whole situation saying that Ric was the real killer and set her up, but Nathan was disgusted that she continued to lie about "literally" stabbing Silas in the back and then forging Silas' signature on a document with the intention of stealing Nina's fortune. Madeline then growled a warning for Maxie to be careful or Maxie might end up just like Silas, but Nathan advised Madeline to tread carefully because he had been the one to persuade Ric to wear a wire. Hurt, Madeline wondered how her own son could have turned on her. "I'm not your son," Nathan shouted as he made it clear that he had washed his hands of Madeline. Madeline cried forlornly. Nathan called out for a police officer to take Madeline to lockup then reminded Madeline that his name was Nathan, not James.
After Madeline was dragged away, Maxie offered to take Nathan home so she could comfort and love him until he had forgotten all about Madeline. Nathan liked the idea, but he was curious what Maxie had wanted to tell him earlier. Maxie decided that it could wait, but Nathan disagreed because he knew it had been important. Maxie revealed that she had been picked to star in a movie. Nathan asked her to elaborate, but she promised to tell him about it at home.
Elsewhere in PCPD lockup, Nina was relieved when Franco was returned to his jail cell. She admitted that she had been concerned because he had been gone a long time. Nina was curious what had taken so long. Franco revealed that Scott had told him that Silas' killer had been caught. Nina was certain Ava had stabbed Silas, but Franco broke the news that Madeline was the real killer. Nina was shocked when Franco filled her in on the details. Franco regretted that he had been so worried about protecting Nina that he had inadvertently removed all traces of Madeline's presence in the apartment. Franco then explained that the courthouse was closed, so they would have to wait until morning to face a judge. Nina was disappointed, but Franco reminded her that they would finally have a chance to be together once the charges were dropped. Nina cheered up until Madeline passed Nina's jail cell. Madeline stopped to talk to Nina because she wanted to warn her that Ric was trying to steal her fortune. Enraged, Nina's hand shot between the bars in an attempt to slap Madeline, but Madeline eluded the attempt. Nina demanded to know why Madeline had killed Silas. Madeline was unapologetic as she insisted that Nina's father should have left the fortune to Madeline because the money had rightfully belonged to Madeline. "Go to hell," Nina yelled. Nina angrily warned Madeline that Madeline faced a life behind bars, while Nina and Franco would be free to live their lives. Franco watched as the guard led Madeline away. Tears of anger filled Nina's eyes, but Franco promised that he and Nina would be released from jail the following day, which meant that they could finally be together. Nina wiped away the tears as she smiled. Franco vowed that no one would ever mess with Nina again because she would always be safe with him. "I know," Nina quietly said.
At Kelly’s, TJ called Molly and told her that he was in way over his head. Then, Molly arrived and TJ told her Sonny’s wedding day was ruined because of him. Molly laughed that Sonny wouldn’t kill him because TJ messed up the wedding cake, but Maxie on the other hand, might. They then worked together to make another cake. Part of it ended up in the trash, but they still had two layers. When it was done, she kissed him and left for orientation. Then, TJ left, carrying the cake, but was grabbed from behind by two masked men and the cake fell to the ground.
At home in bed, Michael had a bad dream about when he disowned Sonny and then woke up. Sabrina questioned him about the dream and he told her that he didn’t see how he could go to the wedding. Sabrina replied it wasn’t just about Sonny, he could go for his mother. Michael then added Morgan was the only thing that might change his mind. He then told Sabrina about Morgan and Kiki’s break up and talked about the possibility that Morgan is bipolar. Michael regretted telling him that Kiki would keep him stable and worried that he should be at the wedding for Morgan. Sabrina replied that she would accompany him if he decided to go. Michael then kissed her and they made love.
At Carly’s house, she was on the phone with Sonny and opened the door to Jake/Jason. Sonny let her go to finish his vows. Jake/Jason wondered why she didn’t tell Sonny he was there. Carly admitted that he wasn’t Sonny’s favorite person. Carly then opened up to Jake/Jason about Morgan possibly being bipolar, added that Sonny was bipolar, but had it under control with medication because he got treatment when she and Jason forced the issue. She then credited Jason for finally getting through to him and wished he were there to get through to Morgan. They thought maybe he would listen to Michael. Then, Jake/Jason left.
At Sonny’s place, Morgan showed up drunk and laughed about playing poker. He then told Sonny that Kiki set him free because she found out about Ava from Franco. Then, he cried that he broke Kiki’s heart and that it was Sonny’s fault because he was bipolar and a loser. Sonny protested while Morgan complained that everything was so much easier for Michael. Sonny replied that he had felt his pain and his family got him through it, specifically Jason and Carly. He then added that he would stick by Morgan and would love him whether he got treatment or not. Then, they embraced and Sonny said they would do the wedding as a family and that he would take him to the doctor tomorrow if he agreed. Morgan replied that he would go.
At Wyndemere, Nikolas and Hayden discussed the outcome of Silas’ murder case. Then, Spencer appeared in fancy clothes for the first day of school. Spencer charmed Hayden and went on about what could and couldn’t be worn after Labor Day. Nikolas thought his outfit was a tad formal. Spencer then talked about showing Emma that he had changed. Hayden hoped he won back Emma. Spencer then brought up that he saw them kissing. Nikolas clarified that they weren’t a couple. Then, Spencer left. Hayden was sorry she couldn’t remember the kiss Spencer witnessed. Nikolas then decided to stay home with her for the day. They wound up in close proximity and then she flashed to kissing him previously.
At Patrick’s house, Sam and Patrick got Emma ready for the first day of school. Then, the doorbell rang, it was Anna. Emma embraced her and then complained that she had to go to school. Anna placated her with a teddy bear playing bagpipes to remind her of Uncle Duke. Sam then took Emma to get dressed and Patrick and Anna discussed Emma and Sam. They agreed that Robin’s work was the most important thing to her, so it was good that Emma had Sam. Afterward, Patrick took Emma to school and Sam asked Anna if it was awkward for her to be living there, but Anna reassured her that it was okay. Then, they chatted and Anna told her that she had taken time away from the bureau. Sam offered her some P.I. work and told her about Michael’s ELQ case, but that she needed more evidence against Nikolas. Anna replied that she might be able to help. She then told Sam some information related to Sloane. Sam then asked if she could see Sloane and get it on record. Anna replied that she would arrange a meeting and text her later. Once alone, Sam called Jake/Jason and soon after, he came over. She told him they now had a break in Michael’s case thanks to Anna Devane.
At Wyndemere, Hayden had another memory of kissing Nikolas and that he was telling her to stop making threats about Jake/Jason. Nikolas tried to dismiss her memories, but she wondered if she knew who Jake/Jason was. Then, Jake/Jason and Sam arrived and interrupted their discussion. They claimed they were there to check on Hayden and barged right in. then, Sam asked Hayden if she remembered anything yet. Hayden replied that she had memory flashes about talking to Nikolas about Jake/Jason. Then, Sam remembered that Hayden claimed that someone else knew who Jake/Jason was and she wondered if it was Nikolas. Nikolas swore that he didn’t know and that perhaps Helena knew and trusted the secret with Hayden.
Outside Kelly’s, Anna arrived for a meeting with Sloane and wondered if he would take this as a sign that there was a chance for them. Anna then said that she reached out to him for comfort at a time she needed some, but she wasn’t sure they had a future together. However, she did need his help with Nikolas Cassadine. She then explained that they wanted to use the information on his rigging the election in order to get him to give ELQ back. Sloane was reluctant since it would expose him as well, but she offered to get him a deal. Anna then added that she needed to do this since she was supposed to be a good guy and this was a way back to the right side for her. Then, he asked her what she wanted him to do. She asked him to tell Nikolas that he planned to tell Jordan the truth, so he agreed.
At Sonny’s house, Sonny checked on the preparations for the wedding. Then, Ric showed up to wish Sonny well and tell him that he had been put on the new case of bringing down Julian. Yet, in exchange for the hijacker of his shipments’ testimony against Julian, he had to let the guy go. Then, the topic switched to Morgan, who had a rough night. Morgan eventually showed up completely hung over and the housekeeper let Sonny know that TJ hadn’t arrived with the cake yet.
Michael arrived at Carly’s place to see her and she wanted to know if he had changed his mind about coming to the wedding. Michael replied that he couldn’t just forgive Sonny and pretend that things were okay, but that he would come to the wedding for her. Carly asked what happened to change his mind and he told her that he wanted to be there for Morgan, who was worried that he was a disappointment to them. Michael then told her everything that happened the night before with Morgan. Carly worried since Morgan never came home, so she called Sonny and found out that Morgan was with him. Sonny then told her that he would see her soon. Michael then left to get ready and Carly began to get dressed as well.
At the PCPD, Jordan asked Dante to focus on the guy they busted for hijacking Sonny’s shipments, who was back on the streets. Then, they discussed the case and how Ric seemed to be in bed with Lomax. Dante assured her that he could separate his family from work. Then, he left to get ready for the wedding and Anna arrived. After hugging, Anna asked for Jordan’s help with Sloane.
In a warehouse, Charlie, the guy hijacking Sonny’s shipments, was holding TJ captive. TJ believed he was working for Julian, though Charlie never confirmed that. Then, Charlie got a call from his boss with the next part of the plan. Charlie then ordered TJ to make a call at gunpoint.
Back at Sonny’s place, TJ called Sonny and said they had a problem. He explained that men had kidnapped him and that they wanted him to come to a warehouse alone. Sonny replied that he was on his way. After he left, Dante and Michael showed up and Morgan explained that Sonny left to take care of something, but promised to be back in time for the ceremony.
Back at Wyndemere, Sam received a text from Anna and threw the fact that she knew about his election tampering in Nikolas’ face. She then ordered him to give ELQ back to Michael or he would go to prison. Nikolas thought they had nothing on him until Sloane walked in and Sam presented their evidence.
Sonny arrived at the warehouse to meet Charlie.
At Wyndemere, Sam informed Nikolas that Sloane was going to give him up for election tampering. They then gave him the choice of prison or handing ELQ back to Michael. Nikolas refused to give ELQ back to Michael. Sloane then added that he wouldn't testify and claimed that Nikolas had nothing to do with fixing the election. Then, Sam and Jake/Jason started to panic. Then, Nikolas smirked and thanked Sloane, who then left. Nikolas then asked Sam and Jake/Jason to leave. Once they were gone, Hayden admitted that she thought that Nikolas was lying about not knowing who Jake/Jason really was.
Anna gave Jordan a hug when she visited her in her office. They caught up then Anna told her that she needed to get immunity for Sloane for election tampering. Jordan started teasing her about her involvement with Sloane and Anna detailed how their relationship had evolved... but that they weren’t together now. Jordan wondered why not and encouraged Anna to seek happiness. Anna insisted that Duke would never leave her heart, that she was in a dark place after he died and that Sloane was wrapped up in that. Jordan was sure that Duke would want her to move on. She then went off to see Ric. Left alone, Anna thought about Sloane. Then, he suddenly appeared.
Maxie was at Carly's, re-arranging her flowers. Carly talked about how perfect her wedding was going to be. Then, Maxie panicked when she learned that Michael was coming when he wasn't on the guest list. Then, Lulu, Bobbie, and Valerie arrived. There were hugs and clapping until the gift giving began. Maxie gave her a bracelet, Valerie lended her her grandmother's cross, Lulu gave her a blue garter and Bobbie gave her a handkerchief made from the baby bonnet she bought for her when she was born. Then, everyone teared up and Carly was thrilled. Then, she, Bobbie and Maxie ran off to get ready. Lulu told Valerie that she really wanted them to have a good relationship. They both wanted a fresh start and hugged.
Meanwhile, Michael joined his brothers on the balcony at Sonny's house. They wondered where their father was. Then, Dante filled them in on what had been going on with Sonny and Ric lately. As Dante went off to make some calls, Michael told Morgan that he showed up for his sake. Then, they talked about how Sonny came through for Morgan and how he even convinced Morgan to see a shrink. Then, Dante returned and informed them that Sonny had gone off solo.
Olivia was on the docks talking loudly on the phone about keeping Julian's child from him when Julian happened by. She got off the phone and they chit chatted. He told her about leaving the mob. She insisted that she had no grudge against him, but didn’t want to be friends.
Meanwhile, Sonny confronted Charlie in the warehouse where TJ was strapped to a chair. Sonny demanded TJ's release and vented about how stupid Charlie was. "Tell Julian to come now!" Sonny shrieked. He even offered to let Charlie take off. When he didn’t, Sonny challenged him to shoot him. Then, TJ mouthed off so Charlie threatened to shoot him. Sonny argued with him about this and eventually, he and Charlie were struggling over his gun. Sonny got the gun and ordered him to untie TJ. As he talked about how nothing was going to get in the way of him keeping his date with Carly, a distant figure appeared and shot him.
Outside, Sam and Jake/Jason were complaining about Sloane double crossing them. When they heard the shot, he pulled her behind some crates.
