It’s likely that Tracy Morgan is still on a high from his comeback appearance at the Emmys, but the sister of the late James McNair might hinder that.
McNair’s sister, Pamela McNair, is speaking out against the former 30 Rock star for allegedly not contacting the McNair family after his good friend’s death.
“I understand it's been a great ordeal for Tracy over the last 15 months. I just feel in some form or fashion, he should have acknowledged my brother — his mentor — because he lost his life,” she told the Daily News.
“Emotionally, we're still devastated and healing. It's a tragic loss of a great human. My brother was just an awesome individual,” she added.
Morgan, whose doctor called his recovery a “miracle,” surprised the crowd at the Emmy Awards at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater on Sunday by presenting the award for Best Drama Series to Game of Thrones.
During his Today Show interview this past summer, he did mention McNair by saying, “Bones heal. But the loss of my friend will never heal.” But Pamela is taking issue that the family hasn’t heard “condolences directly from” Morgan.
“I know there's a healing process, mentally and emotionally,” she said. “I'm sure being in that limo and seeing certain things, it was highly traumatic for him. But just take a minute along the way to acknowledge my brother. He has children, siblings, a big family all bearing that same pain.”
