The 25-year-old actress is the newest member of the “Hometown Hero” honorary series provided by the Greater Louisville Pride Foundation, including Muhammad Ali, Colonel Harland Sanders, Diane Sawyer to name only a fraction of the legends who’ve received the award.

A group of preteen girls, nominated Lawrence and gained the funds to make the nomination a reality through a GoFundMe.com account. The fan girls entitle themselves as “The Lawrence Ladies.” Zoe Kuhn, an 11-year-old in the group said, “She’s already won an Academy Award at a very young age, which means she’s an amazing actress. And even though she is a big star, she’s very down to earth and not big-headed,” The Courier Journal reports.

The Hunger Games trilogy star, JLaw, gave a statement revealing her excitement at the news. “I feel so lucky to be born and raised a Louisville girl,” she said. “Louisville gave me a perspective and informed my identity in a beautiful and honest way. I’m grateful for this honor and extremely humbled to join this list. I mean, Muhammad Ali? Thank you. Go Cards,” according to WHAS 11.

If Louisville is out of the question, make sure to check out the Jennifer Lawrence Mockingjay Part 2, the final film of the Hunger Games series, will hit theaters Nov. 20, 2015.
