Jimmy Kimmel is sorry for making a snap judgment. He just wants peace, or at least for the death threats to come to an end.

On Thursday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel decided it was time to put an end to the war between the gamming community and the late night host. On Thursday’s show Kimmel met with two well known gamers to mend fences. The tension began brewing a week ago Friday when Kimmel made a joke about people who watch others play video games. This led to an uproar of gammers issuing angry comments wishing injury and death to Kimmel.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kimmel invited Mark Fischbach (Markiplier) and Jonna Mae (MissesMae) to explain the watching other people play video games fad. Kimmel told Mae and Fischbach, “I get the playing video games part. It’s fun. It’s the watching other people play the video games that I don’t understand.” Kimmel made the situation awkward when he read a comment made by MissesMae (Mae). “I get that Jimmy Kimmel could be a bit out of touch since he’ snot familiar with the scene but why attack it?” Kimmel read. He responded, “Well, it’s a comedy show, sometimes we make jokes.”

Kimmel tried his hand at playing a video game. He determined that if nothing else, the experience was “educational.” For your sake Jimmy, we hope the “most vicious feud of the digital era” is in the books.
