John Stamos was on NBC’s Today Show this morning to help plug his new sitcom, Grandfathered, but he had much more to talk about. The former Full House star talked about his recent stint in rehab and how the Olsen twins might still appear on Fuller House.
“Well, I lost my mother last year, and she was the love of my life — obviously a difficult time for me,” Stamos told Today this morning. “I had this moment, I had some time off, and I had a decision to make. So I took advantage of the time. And I made a choice, and I'm just so grateful I did.”
Stamos added that he had plenty of support, adding that he was glad he decided to get healthy.
Stamos also touched on the perceived rift between him and the Olsen twins over their potential appearance on Fuller House. In July, Netflix’s Ted Sarandos said that there is still a chance for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen to appear on the show.
“They're fully welcome anytime, I love them and there was a lot of miscommunication in the press and stuff,” Stamos told Today’s Matt Lauer, reports E! News. The actor said that he understood why they wouldn't want to do it since they are busy with other projects, adding, “But I love them dearly and they're always welcome on our show."
Fuller House is set to debut on Netflix next year, but you can catch Grandfathered on Fox Tuesday at 8 p.m.
