Singer Kesha is pushing for injunction in lawsuit with her former producer Dr. Luke who she alleges drugged and raped her repeatedly over a ten-year span.
According to NY Daily News Kesha is claiming she is too afraid to work with songwriter-producer Dr. Luke, who currently holds her contract and has complete control over her music. It’s also reported she has new music but needs court protection to move forward.
Until her contract is void, the singer cannot work with any other producers or sign with another record label preventing her from releasing new music. The singer is hoping the allegations will free her from her contract so she can resume her career.
Her fans have shown support by spreading the hashtag #FreedomForKesha.
Billboard reported that Kesha submitted an affidavit alleging that one once occasion, the two went to a party where she has some drinks and he gave her a “sober pill.” She says woke up later in his bed. Her most recent affidavit also accuses Dr. Luke of taking credit for other artists work.
The controversy began last October but Dr. Luke has maintained his innocence calling the allegations false and without merit. He has not been charged with any crime.
