Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards has rejected a plea deal from her public intoxication arrest and may actually face jail time should the case goes that far.
People noted that Richards, 50, did not appear in court on Monday for hearing due to a foot injury.
"She didn't attend because she had some sort of injury to her foot, and therefore couldn't appear," said Ricardo Santiago, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. "The judge accepted the explanation and allowed her attorney to appear on her behalf."
As we previously reported, the case stems from her arrest last April after an alleged drunken night at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Richards allegedly became aggressive towards the officers and was accused kicking one of them.
Earlier media reports indicated that the reality TV star did accept a plea deal to avoid jail time, however, Santiago said that those reports are untrue and Richards shot down the deal.
"There were conversations about a negotiated settlement being offered by our office, but the offer was rejected by the defense," he said.
The deal was for three years of probation, 30 days of community labor and for her to attend 52 Alcoholics Anonymous classes.
Her next hearing is set for later this month.
