Michael Shannon is not sorry for confusing fans with his recent comments about his character General Zod in the upcoming and highly anticipated Batman v. Superman film.
In Man of Steel, Shannon's character is killed during the finale of the film but surprisingly Zod was seen in the trailer for Batman v. Superman, causing the Internet to explode with questions and theories.
It wasn't until an interview with Vulture that Shannon opened up about his part in the movie.
"I was in my costume, and I couldn’t use my fingers because in the sequel I have flippers instead of hands. So I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn’t open the door, and I could hear Zack (Snyder) being like, ‘Where’s Shannon? Where the (expletive) is he?’ and the whole crew was standing around. I was like, knocking on the door with my flippers, ‘Let me out of here!’”
During a promotional event for his upcoming Freeheld, MTV asked Shannon about the incident. “I can’t, I’m not gonna do it again,” explained Shannon. “How about something about something else. Elvis has flippers. I was confused. It wasn’t Zod, it was Elvis.”
Turns out that director Zack Snyder wasn't upset at Shannon for his odd comments and took them as a joke. “Most people don’t know how much Zack swears, he swears a lot. No, Zack has a good sense of humor. I think that’s why we got along," said Shannon.
Batman v. Superman stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Jesse Eisenberg. The movie opens on March 25, 2016.
