Nick Gordon is looking to have the Bobbi Kristina Brown wrongful death lawsuit against him dropped as his lawyers have filed a response calling the claims in the suit "slanderous and meritless."

E! Online noted that the former boyfriend of the late Brown filed the response on Tuesday and denied the allegations that he gave her a toxic cocktail and placed her face down in the tub. Gordon admitted to arguing with Brown the day she was found unresponsive in the tub, but said he tried to perform CPR and save her when he discovered her in there.

The suit was filed by Brown’s conservator, Bedelia Hargrove, in Fulton County Superior Court earlier this year.

His attorney, Joes Baez, who made a name for himself after successfully defending Casey Anthony, asked that case in Georgia be dismissed as Gordon’s residence is in Florida.

As we previously reported, the 22-year-old Brown died in hospice on July 26 after she had been in a coma since January. Her brain function was said to be “significantly diminished.” She was the daughter of singer Bobby Brown and the late entertainer Whitney Houston.
