Retired NFL running back and former television personality O.J. Simpson will not have a new trial for his Las Vegas robbery conviction as his appeal has been denied.

The Associated Press noted that on Thursday, a Nevada Supreme Court panel rejected the latest appeal and sided with the lower court’s decision not go forth with a new trial.

"We ... conclude the district court did not err in denying these claims," justices Ron Parraguire, Michael Douglas and Michael Cherry said in a 16-page order.

Simpson, 68, was convicted of armed robbery in 2008 and sentenced to 9 to 33 years in prison. His lawyers argued that the case was not handled properly and there were conflicts of interest, but the panel did not agree.

The former football star will forever be linked to the 1994 murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. Both were found brutally stabbed to death outside Brown Simpson’s Brentwood, California condo and the athlete went on trial for the murders. On October 3, 1995, a jury reached a verdict and found him not guilty.
