On Sunday, Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones slammed rookie Oakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper’s head into his helmet. While the play looked gruesome, the NFL only fined him $35,000.

Jones told Fox 19 on Wednesday that he was fined $35,000, which he actually thinks is “way too much for a football play.” He said he will appeal the punishment.

In another interview with ESPN, Jones said that the play overshadowed his good game, which included 10 tackles and a forced fumble to help the Bengals beat the Raiders. He said he hopes it doesn’t happen again, but couldn’t guarantee that it won’t.

“I've learned from this mistake, and hopefully it won't happen again,” he said. “But I can't promise you guys that in the heat of the moment that it won't happen again.”

The play, which you can see below, finished with Cooper and Jones on the ground, notes CBS Sports. Jones then knocks Cooper’s helmet off and puts his hands around Cooper’s neck before slamming his head into his helmet.
