It another unconventional challenge! Marieclaire Magazine gave the designers the challenge of merging fashion with technology by creating a look using out-of-date technology such as computer monitors, wires, circuit boards, floppy disks, vinyl records, etc. The designers went dumpster diving to choose their materials.

Jake decided to leave the competition this episode because his dog had to be put down. So does this mean that no one is getting eliminated this episode?

Laurie created a strapless top and mini skirt out of mouse pads, and computer cables.

Joseph created a dress out of blue and black mouse pads and cords, pushing the “sexy envelope” for this design (compared to his other designs that were called mumsie or matronly).

Kelly created a knock-out dress out of aluminum tubing that she cut to different sizes to make the texture of the dress.

Lindsey created a white dress using computer keys (with the word side up to create a cool print) for the top and cd sleeves for the flowing skirt. The sliver belt made out of radio parts is a great accessory to the dress.

Swapnil created a top that is a crazy mess of white wires. His mini skirt is disappointing since it’s made out of muslin (base fabric) that has been painted gray, white, and black. He definitely put no effort what-so-ever into the skirt.

Edmond created a black dress using mouse pads, with the underside of keys from a computer keyboard as texture detail, the back has criss-crossed wires. He even created his own handbag out of a VHS camcorder bag to go with the look.

Ashely created a fun dress made out of polaroids. She used the ink in the polaroids to create her own print pattern.

Candice created a sexy, fierce, strong fitted cocktail length dress made out of black, white and blue wire chords.

Merline created a dress out of computer cables. The combination of the strong shoulder (like over the top 80s shoulder pads), and the black computer cables made the dress look bird-like.
