Anything goes for this challenge. The designers had the delight of seeing the current Broadway hit “Finding Neverland.” They are to use “Finding Neverland” as their inspiration to create any look that they desire. Not going to lie, I’m extremely jealous that they got to see that show. The designers need to remember that even though the sky is the limit, they can’t make costumes, or anything too over the top.
Kelly created a simple dark green cocktail dress with a beautiful floor length vest that uses a black textile with aqua appliques. She even made long, elegant dark green hand gloves to complete the look.
Swapnil created a pink flowing floor length skirt with an architecture structured top using gray and black plaid. You would think that the top and the bottom being complete opposites would not work, but it surprisingly does.
Lindsey created a green dress with a flowing high to low skirt and a high neckline out of organza. It’s nice, but it's nothing special. The high neckline looks like someone threw a cloth napkin on her chest.
Laurie created a micro-mini skirt, a crop top and a jacket with massive sleeves. Laurie had some problems covering her model this week. Her skirt barely covered the model’s butt and the top used a textile that was bubble with holes, so every part of the model’s boobs were showing. The whole outfit is made out of ugly beige tweed-like fabric. It looked like a matronly, hot mess Tinkerbell.
Ashely created a evening gown using ombre fabric that goes from white to dark purple. The top of the dress is a basic strapless princess cut while there are two different versions of the skirt. The right side of the skirt is a mermaid skirt while the left side is flowing. The hem is unraveling.
Candice created another black bustier bodice (Candice, is it possible for you to create a top that isn’t tight, black, or leather?), black leggings and a black coat with red flowers.
Edmond created a structured black crop top and hot cigarette pants. The pants look great, but what makes the look is the jacket. The jacket looks like a purple dream cloud floating around the model (in a good way).
Merline created a gorgeous, simple, black evening gown. The applique really makes the dress. Though I don’t understand Merline’s obsession with created dramatic, hard, over-the-top shoulders for her looks.
