Rihanna was noticeably absent from the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, and she was asked about Kanye West’s acceptance speech at the launch of her fragrance RiRi by Rihanna on Monday.

During his inspired speech, West covered a lot of subjects and ended it by telling the crowd he was going to run for president in 2020.

Rihanna is one of those people who would support his run, though he was most likely joking around.

"I did watch! I did watch! I wish I could have been there,” she told E! News. “But my home girl got married in New York so I couldn't.”

She went on to call West’s speech “great,” adding, "I love seeing him like that. I love seeing him in that raw, honest state."

When asked if she would vote for him she laughed, "2020? I hope he really does” run.

Rihanna and West have collaborated on “Run This Town” and “Four Five Seconds” with Paul McCartney.
