Simon Cowell has shown his generous spirit by making a donation toward the Syrian Refugee Crisis Appeal and also said he would like to meet the father of three-year-old Aylan Kurdi.
The Huffington Post UK reported Cowell donated $10,000 toward the SRCA, which was put together in order to help individuals who were in fleeing Syria. He was especially moved after seeing images of the three-year-old boy after he was found dead.
He spoke with The Mirror saying, “It would truly be humbling to meet Abdullah and learn more of his family’s terrible plight.” Cowell’s experience in becoming a father himself caused him to become emotionally drawn toward the plight of refugee children.
The X-Factor star reportedly would like to meet Abdullah Kurdi face to face at the Pride of Britain Awards, which will be held this month.
Cowell said, “If kids are being put in this position, you have to help.”
As previously reported, musician Bob Geldof was equally moved by the image of the little boy and stated he would take in four Syrian families at his homes in both London and Kent.
Many migrants are making an effort to flee from conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria.
