Golden State Warriors star and reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry visited the Late show Monday night.

Curry, who led the Warriors to the 2015 NBA Championship and was named 2015 ESPY’s “Best Male Athlete” and “Best NBA Player,” came on to the show to promote NBA 2K16 and to discuss his recently found stardom.

However, the highlight of the segment was when host Stephen Colbert challenged Curry to a shooting contest, albeit with a twist.

Instead of using basketballs, the two would square off shooting balled up socks into a laundry hamper.

Colbert said the “high-stakes” contest would settle the distinction of whose name appears fist when the name “Stephen” is typed into Google, per SB Nation.

After deadlocking at 1 shot made each after the 30-second shootout, the game went into sudden death. With Curry looking on, Colbert nailed his attempt, drawing loud cheers from the crowd. Curry, unfazed, casually drained his attempt as well.

While it appears that the two Stephens will have to find a new way to settle the score, Curry’s wife Ayesha already thinks she knows the answer, via her Instagram.

“Proud of him! Be sure to tune in tonight to The Late Show !,” the caption said.
