The Philadelphia Eagles released QB Tim Tebow on Saturday as part of their efforts to reduced their roster to the necessary number of 53 by the 4 P.M. deadline.

After yesterday’s trade of Matt Barkley, many thought Tebow was finally getting another chance. It was not meant to be in Philadelphia. Not even under famed offensive coach Chip Kelly.

Kelly had nothing but good things to say about the former Heisman Trophy winner, “[Tebow] really improved his throwing motion from when he was throwing a couple of years ago,” he continued via ESPN.com, “"He worked extremely hard on it and deserves a lot of credit for that.”

Suspicious comments considering he didn’t think the guy was good enough to be his third QB.

Tebow was all class as usual though with his public response to to this latest career setback.

It’s the third time that the legendary college player has been cut and the popular belief is that his career may now be over. If he couldn’t make it with the Eagles he couldn’t make it with any team. He showed renewed accuracy and played well in the preseason, according to ESPN.com. His statistics suggest the Eagles were never serious about bringing him on.

Now he is back at square one. Will this be Tim Tebow’s last shot? It’s hard to believe.

The Eagles could call him again next year.
