Most stars bring their significant others or at least a human to red carpet events. But Tom Hardy is not like most stars. He decided to bring his dog to the Legend red carpet in London.
While Hardy, 37, was dressed in a three-piece suit, the Mad Max: Fury Road star’s companion was only wearing a collar and leash. Woody, a Labrador mix, was his cute companion for the event. Hardy's wife, Charlotte Riley, was also at the event.
Hardy is a vocal animal lover, so this isn’t the first time he has been accompanied by a dog on the red carpet. Entertainment Weekly notes that Hardy also took pit bull Zora to the New York premiere of The Drop last year.
The actor talked about Woody first during an interview with Vulture last September. He said he found Woody in Atlanta while filming Lawless with Jessica Chastain. They almost ran over him with a Prius and Chastain insisted that they pick him up.
“He was only 11 weeks old, and so we got hold of him and he became the on-set dog, and Jessica’s mom looked after him for me for about six months while he cleared quarantine, and then we brought him back to London, so he’s my dog now,” Hardy said. “He goes on all my film sets now. He’s a great on-set dog.”
Hardy will next be seen in Legend, in which he plays ‘60s London gangsters Ronald and Reginald Kray. The film is doing the fall festival circuit and opens on Oct. 2.
