Charlie Sheen, whose real name is Carlos Irwin Estévez, is celebrating his 50th birthday today, September 3. Knowing Sheen’s history, the party will likely be epic. Sheen, one of four children of actor Martin Sheen and artist Janet Templeton, began his acting career at age 19 with a role along Patrick Swayze in Red Dawn, released in 1984.  He went on to star dozens  of films including Platoon, Born on the Fourth of July, Major League, and many more. He has also starred in two films opposite his older brother Emilio Esteves, Men at Work and Young Guns. In 2000 he made the jump into television, replacing Michael J. Fox in Spin City. Most notably in his television career, he was cast in Two and a Half Men in 2003 and after 8 seasons was fired due to his volatile behavior. Sheen is also known for his wild partying, substance abuse, and legal issues and suffered a “meltdown” after being dismissed from Two and a Half Men.
